During his diplomatic mission in Vienna, Chinese Prince Sou-Chong sparks a whirlwind romance with the Viennese noblewoman Lisa. Defying all conventions, Lisa leaves her life behind to accompany Sou-Chong to his homeland, embarking on a daring cross-cultural marriage. Yet, their romance is soon tested by the crushing weight of family duties and rigid social expectations. How will they choose their destiny?

Composed by the Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár in 1929, “The Land of Smiles” is an operetta steeped in Chinese allure. This production reimagines the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures with a modern perspective on this classic tale.

中國王子蘇崇出訪歐洲，邂逅維也納貴族麗莎。他們迅即墮入愛海，麗莎更毅然決定隨蘇崇到中國生活 。二人縱然相愛，但他們的愛情卻面臨家族壓力和現實環境的考驗⚡。在忠孝大義與靈魂自由之間，蘇崇和麗莎將如何選擇他們的命運？

《微笑之國》是奧地利作曲家弗朗茲．萊哈爾於 1929 年創作的經典輕歌劇，亦是少有以中國為題材的歌劇作品。是次製作將重新建構中西文化交匯的世界，以當代視角詮釋這個經典。
